Development of relevant dialogues for long-term synergy of policies on the use of biofuels and electricity in the Brazilian transport sector
- The project aims to explore pathways toward energy transition to reach low-carbon mobility, considering Brazil's strengths in biofuel production and low-carbon electricity generation. The roadmap will be used as a tool to determine the technologies to be adopted in the transition process.
- The study will involve discussions with experts to identify barriers, enablers and assumptions that will be used as a basis for developing scenarios. The scenarios will consider transportation activities, energy use, and emissions on the 2024-50 horizon.
- It is expected that the results indicate the impacts (negative or positive) of the identified technologies. Furthermore, the outcomes will aid in the development of a comprehensive and cross-sectoral Strategic Action Plan.
- The Action Plan will outline policy instruments and medium- and long-term objectives, considering public and private initiatives, exploring the potential of the local energy and technology industry, as well as the international market.
