FGV Hosts Debate on Innovation for Competitiveness

How can we develop innovative products and services from research? This is the central question guiding the Innovation for Competitiveness event, which will take place on March 27 at 9 a.m. in the Main Hall of the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP).
Organized by the FGV Research and Innovation Network in partnership with FGV Ventures, the event is part of a series of initiatives by Fundação Getulio Vargas that position innovation as a key pillar for supporting the country’s sustainable and socioeconomic development. The initiatives to be presented also aim to demonstrate how the social sciences can contribute to increasing the supply of innovative products and services.
Throughout the program, experts from various sectors will discuss the challenges and opportunities for generating innovation in the fields of Sustainability, the Automotive Industry, and Health. In addition, startups accelerated by FGV Ventures will present their results. Since 2016, 87 startups have participated in the program across 17 acceleration batches, reaching a combined valuation of over R$600 million and raising more than R$150 million in investment.
The event will provide a platform for different sectors to share their perspectives on innovation. Participants will include researchers from FGV and the University of New South Wales (UNSW); representatives from the Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (Embrapii), Braskem, the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), and the Brazilian Association of Automotive Engineering (AEA). Startups such as Carristas, WILU, and IWASTE will also take part, along with the company Nintx, the Inova Unicamp accelerator, and the Sírio-Libanês Hospital.
