Event brings together research institutions, industry, and government.

Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) will host the 8th Research and Innovation Symposium on November 25, 26, and 27, 2024, at the FGV Cultural Center, located at Praia de Botafogo, 190, in Rio de Janeiro. This year, the event will feature panels on the design and evaluation of public policies in areas such as health, housing, science and technology, industrial innovation, international cooperation, and research project funding. Registration is free and available through this link.

The FGV Research and Innovation Symposium aims to build networks of researchers from Brazil and abroad, as well as to foster multidisciplinary research projects with high impact on the country’s socioeconomic development. This edition is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI); Ministry of Health; National Confederation of Industry (CNI); Innovation and Diplomacy Program; Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty); Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); World Bank; European Union; Euraxess; the Federal Republic of Germany in Brazil; and the German Research Foundation (DFG).

According to FGV’s Director of Research and Innovation, Goret Paulo, the major highlight of this year’s Symposium will be the inclusion of debates on incentives for innovation development:

“As FGV prepares to launch its Innovation Incentive Policy, we want to foster closer dialogue between researchers, industry, and government to encourage the creation of innovative products and services for the country through research development,” said the Director, adding that various countries will present available opportunities for research and innovation funding during the panel on international cooperation.

The Symposium will also feature a Flash Presentations panel, where researchers from different fields of knowledge will be able to present proposals for research and innovation projects.
