Artificial Light at Night and the Behavior of Dengue Mosquitoes
ARTIFICIAL LIGHT AT NIGHT (ALAN) is growing at a pace of 2% per year and the excessive hours and intensity of light may be driving Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to stay active until later. OUR GOAL is to test, in the field and in the laboratory, whether females exposed to ALAN lay more eggs than females not exposed to ALAN. This information is fundamental for improving the public policies related to the fight against vector-borne diseases.
