VII FGV Research Symposium 2023

About the event
The 7th Research Symposium of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) was held on September 12, 13, and 14, at the FGV Cultural Center, located at Praia de Botafogo, 186, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The aim of the Symposium was to strengthen networks of researchers from Brazil and abroad, fostering the development of multidisciplinary research projects with high impact on the country’s socioeconomic development, in alignment with FGV’s institutional mission.
Over the course of three days, experts from various fields and countries gathered to discuss key challenges currently facing the Brazilian population. This year’s Symposium addressed the following themes:
- Research, Innovation, and the Business Sector
- Ethics and Integrity in Research
- The Impact of Climate Change, Pollution, and Environmental Disasters on Public Health
- Communication and the New Social Order
- Tax Reform and the Fiscal Framework
In addition to the panel discussions, the Symposium featured an opening roundtable on the topic: "The Impact of Science on Society and the Advancement of Knowledge." This edition also included a Flash Presentations session, in which researchers from various disciplines presented their research proposals in up to ten minutes, aiming to identify potential collaborators during the event.

The 7th FGV Research Symposium welcomed researchers, representatives from national and international research funding agencies, as well as public and private sector actors, to encourage interaction between academia and these sectors, with the goal of developing high-impact research for society.
