About the event
Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), in the context of the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation, held the Free Conference “Evidence-Based Policies for Science, Technology and Innovation”.
The main objective of this Conference was to identify a minimum set of actions that must be included in Brazil's agenda in the coming years, aimed at developing an evidence-based Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) policy.
The strategic topics addressed were:
- Governance of the ST&I system and coordination among funding agencies
- Definition of guidelines and a permanent evaluation system for investments in ST&I
- Definition of metrics to measure and evaluate the impact of ST&I policies and programs
The set of proposals discussed and formulated will be presented to various actors and sectors responsible for ST&I in the country.
The full conference recording is available at this link.
ince November 2023, Regional, Free, and Thematic ST&I Conferences have been taking place across the country, culminating in the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation, scheduled for June 4–6, 2024, in Brasília. The conference aims to analyze the programs and plans from the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation (ENCTI) for the period of 2016 to 2023 and their outcomes, in order to propose recommendations for drafting ENCTI 2024–2030, along with long-term action plans.
The Free ST&I Conferences provide opportunities to discuss topics not previously covered by Thematic Conferences. They can be organized by researchers, professionals, students, Indigenous peoples, entrepreneurs, policymakers, legislators, and various social groups interested in ST&I-related subjects.
